Islamabad: The Islamabad Accountability Court has instructed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to provide a response regarding the court’s jurisdiction to hear the Toshakhana reference, following the Supreme Court’s ruling on NAB amendments.
The case was heard by Accountability Court Judge Abida Sajjad, involving President Asif Ali Zardari, Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani, and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who are accused of unlawfully acquiring vehicles from Toshakhana. During the proceedings, Nawaz Sharif’s counsel questioned the court’s authority to continue with the case in light of the Supreme Court’s decision on the NAB amendments.
